Why "Rain Lily" Project
Why "The Rain Lily Project" - this is a question we get all the time. If you ask Chatgpt it will tell you that Rain Lilies - are delicate, funnel-shaped flowers, which have the ability to thrive in a variety of conditions - they typically bloom after rainfall. For us the inspiration came from the abundance of Rain Lilies blooming in our own gardens - many a times in completely unexpected places. To us, they symbolize something untamed, something wild. They symbolize that not everything can be forced or created artificially. The fragility of this flower is not a barometer of its ability to thrive. There is a resilience underlying it all. The blooms come, unexpectedly, delighting us after a rainy day! Similarly we believe in the potential of each and every one of us to bloom, provided the conditions are right. With this place, our attempt is to provide such a space for the entire community but especially for families with young kids in their caretaking.
The Rain Lily Project is a community space for the whole family. With a curated lending library at the heart of it, this is a space which invites slowness, personal connections, and to just be.
Our Story
We are not an events space, we are a continuity space. We are not a library, we are a curiosity starter. We are not a cafe, we are a conversation enabler. The space invites you to be with your loved ones in relaxed surroundings enjoying a relaxed rhythm.
Our Vision
Meet Pooja
In one lifetime, Pooja worked in the IT industry. In this one, she followed her heart (and her mat, and many small footprints). She is a trained Yoga Teacher in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition, has completed Waldorf Kindergarten Teacher training, and now spends her days holding space for children, parents, stories, and play. Pooja runs The Rain Lily Project, a community space for families who believe in slowing down and letting childhood unfold at its own pace.
